Long Beach’s Just Cause Eviction Ordinance Overview
On February 18, 2020, the Long Beach City Council voted to adopt a Just Cause Eviction Ordinance as an emergency ordinance which caused it to become effective immediately. “Just cause” requirements take away a landlord’s ability to use a “no cause” notice to terminate a month-to-month tenancy under state law.
