The California Apartment Association is opposing a bill that would require that landlords inform prospective tenants about the energy efficiency of properties being offered for rent.
Under SB 1026 by Sen. Bob Wieckowski, D-Fremont, rental owners would have to provide a specific energy-efficiency disclosure form to tenants before entering into a rental agreement. The document would be created by the State Energy Resources Conservation and Development Commission.
