The California Apartment Association has named Ben J. Benoit as its new vice president of public affairs in the Greater Inland Empire. Benoit, who began Jan. 3, comes to CAA’s Greater Inland Empire office with a history of service to his community. Benoit has served as a council member for the city of Wildomar and has brought a strong voice to many regional boards.
At the CAA October board meeting, President Thomas Scott, CPM, announced the results of the 2017 California Apartment Association Board of Directors’ election. Scott welcomed newly elected and returning directors to the board during the meeting Thursday, Oct. 20. Voting for the 2016 CAA Board of Directors closed Oct. 12, 2016.

The California Apartment Association has named Matthew Buck as its new executive in the Greater Inland Empire. Buck assumed his new role July 1. Now vice president of public affairs, he previously served CAA members in the region as government affairs director. Greg Terzakis, a veteran of government affairs work in the Central Valley, has joined the California Apartment Association as its new executive director in Greater Fresno. Terzakis, who began Monday, Feb. 1, came to CAA from Granville Homes, a local business where he served as public affairs manager. Prior to that position, he spent four years as a legislative aide to San Joaquin County Supervisor Carlos Villapudua. The CAA Greater Inland Empire Advisory Board has unanimously approved Kelly Vickers from Sares-Regis Group as chairwoman for 2016. As a regional vice president for the Sares-Regis Group, Vickers oversees company operations in the Inland Empire and San Diego. She has more than 17 years of property management experience in both an on-site and multi-site capacity and previously worked for Lewis Management Corp., Beacon Property Management and Equity Residential Property Trust. The California Apartment Association has forged a strong working relationship with the next speaker of the state Assembly, Anthony Rendon, and looks forward to collaborating with him in his new leadership role. Last week, Rendon won the speakership by a unanimous vote from his Assembly colleagues. He is set to take over the post in early March as current Assembly Speaker Toni Atkins is forced out by term limits.
