One of two bills that would prohibit rental property owners from accessing a credit report when a prospective tenant receives a government subsidy will not move forward this year.
The California Apartment Association opposed the legislation, AB 2203 by Assemblywoman Luz Rivas, D-San Fernando Valley. Late last week, Rivas placed the bill in the inactive file, making it ineligible to be heard for the balance of 2022.
