All rental units within the unincorporated areas of the County of Sacramento are subject to a rental inspection ordinance. The ordinance requires anyone who is inspecting a rental property on behalf of the property owner to be certified through a County-approved certification course.

A certificate of completion will be provided upon successful completion of this course. The course explains the details of the ordinance, including registration requirements, fees, exemptions, who may conduct inspections, what must be inspected, when inspection must be performed, the require forms to complete, and how the ordinance will be enforced.

This course satisfies the certification requirement under Sacramento County’s Rental Housing Inspection Program ordinance for both single-family and multifamily residential rentals. It also benefits all rental owners and managers by providing information on industry best practices for property inspections.

Inspection is an essential part of property management operations. This course explains the details of the ordinance. Documentation of property condition is required for disposition of security deposits, compliance with mandatory inspection ordinance, and assurance of safe and habitable living conditions for your residents.
