Pomona’s City Council this week approved a 6% cap on annual rent increases, replacing the city’s more restrictive temporary rent control ordinance.

For more than two years, Pomona’s temporary rent control ordinance capped rent increases at 4% or the change in the consumer price index (CPI), whichever was lower.
