South Pasadena’s City Council recently reviewed a 2024 rent stabilization study and decided against adopting a rent control ordinance.
For more than a decade, tenant advocates have urged City Council to enact local rent control measures.
In response, CAA has actively engaged with South Pasadena officials, educating them on the rental housing industry and supporting local housing providers.
“From the beginning, CAA has emphasized to city council members that sound housing policy should be based on real data, not anecdotal testimony,” said Matt Buck, vice president of public affairs.
