In a late-night meeting Wednesday, April 9, the Oceanside City Council tentatively approved the study of several potential changes to local housing policy, including rent control and expanded eviction restrictions.
Thanks to strong advocacy from the California Apartment Association and a broad coalition of housing stakeholders, the council voted down some of the most onerous proposals and limited the scope of the measures advancing for further analysis.
