Over objections from the California Apartment Association, the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors on Wednesday approved stricter limits on annual rent increases for unincorporated areas, impacting many rental units starting next year. The ordinance, which still requires a second reading for final adoption, will take effect on Jan. 1, 2025.
