New emergency orders are in effect in nine California counties, but without the usual limits on rent increases that accompany such proclamations. 

On June 21, 2024, Gov. Newsom issued the proclamations, which cover Del Norte, Glenn, Humboldt, Marin, Napa, Santa Clara, Solano, Trinity, and Los Angeles counties, to support ongoing recovery efforts from the impact of winter storms. The main purpose of these emergency proclamations is to direct Caltrans to formally request immediate assistance from the Federal Highway Administration’s Emergency Relief Program.
