It’s now up to the full Los Angeles City Council to decide whether to end the local COVID-19 eviction moratorium.
A proposal to phase out the moratorium by Jan. 31, 2023, advanced to the full council this week after winning approval from the body’s COVID Recovery Committee. The committee also advanced a plan to lift the pandemic-related freeze on rent increases for rent controlled units by the end of next year.
