At the request of the California Apartment Association, Santa Ana has made corrections to the materials it published about the city’s new rent control and “just cause” for eviction ordinances.

In a letter to the city last month, CAA pointed to a number of misinterpretations of state law in several forms, FAQs, and other communications published by the city after the ordinances took effect in November of last year. The errors in the city’s materials appeared to create new mandates for property owners that were not provided for in the ordinances themselves, including the following:
