Rental housing providers frequently contact the California Apartment Association Helpline with a deceptively simple question: Which addenda do I need?
CAA will address that question during a Feb. 18 webinar designed to help property owners and managers understand which addenda are required for their rental properties and when they should be used.
Determining the correct addenda depends on several factors, including whether a property is subject to AB 1482 rent control and just cause requirements, the type of rental unit, when it was built, where it is located, the property owner’s policies, and the activities of residents.
The webinar will walk participants through the questions they need to ask to determine which addenda apply to their properties and which CAA addenda should — or should not — be used based on the answers. The program will also review CAA’s new and updated addenda forms for 2026, including the Refrigerator Request Addendum and the Change of Co-Tenants Addendum.
The webinar will be presented by Monica Deka, compliance and legislative counsel for the California Apartment Association, and Heidi Palutke, education, policy and compliance counsel for the association.
The live webinar takes place Feb. 18 at 10 a.m. The cost is $45 for members and $85 for non-members. A live and on-demand option is available for $55 for members and $95 for non-members. The estimated course length is one hour. The program qualifies for one unit of CCRM continuing education credit.
