CAA’s three-day notices for nonpayment of rent and other charges are largely reverting to their pre-COVID status. In response to the pandemic, the California Legislature had enacted a series of laws that provided protections to tenants who were unable to pay. These protections have now expired. Note that a hybrid three/30-day notice is still required for properties that participate in federal programs subject to the federal CARES ACT.
