The San Diego City Council on Monday granted preliminary approval to a “no fault” eviction ordinance, however, the California Apartment Association helped delay its implementation and secure an end date for the law.
The no-fault eviction moratorium passed on a 5-1 vote with Councilman Chris Cate dissenting. A second required ratification hearing will likely take place April 18, with the law taking effect 30 days later.
