Two Los Angeles County Supervisors are asking whether they can keep dictating housing policies at the city level based on the recently declared homelessness emergency.

This question, which Supervisors Hilda Solis and Lindsey Horvath put to county staff last week, specifically pertains to the county’s emergency housing policies and board’s ability to exert control over the county’s 88 incorporated jurisdictions. A report is due to be returned to the board in the coming weeks.
