Los Angeles County Supervisors on Tuesday ignored a coalition of L.A. residents, housing providers and business groups calling on the board to lift its eviction moratorium and instead extended the policy through Jan. 21, 2022.

These policies took effect in March 2020 and had been set to expire Thursday, Sept. 30, 2021, along with the statewide eviction moratorium. With the extension, however, the county’s ordinances will continue to provide a set of affirmative defenses against evictions for residential tenants.
