In a narrow vote on Tuesday, the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors rejected a proposal that would have extended eviction controls across the county’s 88 cities.
The 11th-hour proposal from Supervisors Lindsey Horvath and Hilda Solis went down in defeat on a 2-2 vote with one abstention. As a result, LA County’s COVID-19 eviction moratorium and emergency authority over incorporated cities will expire after March 31, 2023.
