CAA Contra Costa encourages local housing providers to attend the Tuesday, Nov. 27 Concord City Council meeting, where elected officials will likely hear demands for rent control and “just cause” eviction policies.
The Concord City Council is scheduled to review its current Residential Rent Review and Multi-Family Rental Inspection programs. The Residential Rent Review program was adopted in 2017 and provides a process for renters who receive a rent increase in excess of 10 percent to request a review of the increase and a formal hearing with the landlord. Since its inception, the program has seen approximately 20 petitions from renters seeking help from the city.
