California has received an additional $136 million in COVID-19 rent and utility-relief funds from the U.S. Treasury.

It’s California’s second installment of reallocated rent relief dollars that went unspent in other states. In January, the first allocation delivered $62 million to the Golden State.

The infusion of federal money comes at the one-year anniversary of California’s emergency rental assistance program and roughly two weeks before the program is set to stop taking applications March 31.
