CAA will rebroadcast “Rental Housing Fees: The Big Picture” at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 16. The webinar covers the state laws, local rent control ordinances and federal enforcement trends housing providers must navigate when setting fees.

The course covers application screening fees, security deposits, late fees and utility charges. It also examines how California’s Tenant Protection Act may affect mandatory recurring charges beyond base rent.

Other topics include recent attorney general enforcement involving utility unbundling and newly imposed periodic fees, local rent control restrictions, and Federal Trade Commission trends involving fee disclosures and “drip pricing.”

The presentation features Monica Deka, compliance and legislative counsel for CAA, and Mallory Homewood, policy and compliance counsel for local government affairs. It qualifies for one unit of California Certified Residential Manager continuing education credit for current credential holders.

Registration is $30 for CAA members and $45 for nonmembers, below the current on-demand prices. The on-demand version remains available for those who prefer to watch on their own schedule.

Please note: Because this webinar is a rebroadcast of a previously recorded webinar, Q&A will not be offered to attendees.
