The Los Angeles City Council on Tuesday halted its pursuit of an independent eviction moratorium in response to the fires. Similarly, both Culver City and the City of Pasadena have ended their separate discussions. The cities will now defer to the countywide moratorium recently approved by the Los Angeles Board of Supervisors.

This shift marks a departure from the patchwork of pandemic-era regulations. Moving forward, property owners can rely on a single set of emergency rules for governance.

To help you navigate these changes if a resident opts to invoke county provisions, CAA has published a compliance paper on L.A. County’s wildfire eviction rules. We encourage you to review this resource for detailed guidance.
