COVID-19 Questions

COVID-19 Resource Page: To help answer most of your questions related to the Coronavirus outbreak, CAA has created a resource page that includes the most recent legislative issues, resources for landlords addressing both employee and tenant related issues, along wtih links to Federal resources.

For our members, CAA has also created a list of Frequently Asked Questions regarding COVID-19.

AB 1482 Questions

CAA staff has developed a Step By Step Guide to AB 1482 compliance and a tool to help you determine whether your property is subject to AB 1482’s rent caps and just cause provisions.   Please use the tool to determine whether your property is subject to AB 1482 and review the Step by Step Guide, and other information available on CAA’s AB 1482 Compliance Pagebefore submitting any questions about AB 1482. For more information on permanent or long-term local rent control and just cause ordinances, see CAA’s Local Rent Control Chart and CAA’s Industry Insight “Just Cause Eviction – Local Eviction Control Measures (note: these papers do not contain information on local stop gap measures adopted before AB 1482’s effective date).

CAA has an AB 1482 WEBINAR available now on demand.  CAA’s new compliance forms are now available through CAA’s AB 1482 Compliance Page.

Spanish Language Forms

CAA’s forms are currently undergoing translation.  We anticipate they will be available May 2020.  California law requires that a contract be provided in Spanish only if it is negotiated in Spanish. For more information, see CAA’s Industry Insight Foreign Language Rental Agreements and Leases.
