This form contains the essential legal terminology needed when you wish to increase the rent for a month-to-month tenancy for a rental unit that is exempt from AB 1482 rent caps and is not subject to a local rent control ordinance. This form is for increases of 10% or less, or for rent decreases. AB 1482 rent caps generally do not apply to the following categories of property: (1) housing subject to a local rent control ordinance with a lower rent cap; (2) housing built within the last 15 years; (3) separately alienable properties; (4) owner-occupied duplexes; (5) certain affordable housing; and (6) dorms.
