Although California’s eviction protections for tenants with pending rental assistance applications ended June 30, 2022; new eviction protections took effect in the City of San Diego on July 1, 2022 for those tenants who fail to pay their rent for a COVID-19 related reason. These new protections will remain in effect until 60 days after the city ends it’s declared COVID-19 state of emergency.
The City of San Diego also has a temporary no-fault eviction moratorium in effect which prohibits no fault evictions, with a few exceptions, regardless of if the tenant has a COVID-19 related hardship.
In this 30 minute webinar CAA will provide an overview of both of San Diego’s eviction moratoria that are currently in effect.
