CAA Sacramento Valley Membership Luncheon

Preventing the Spread of Rent Control.
Attend this special pre-election luncheon to get an update on CAA efforts to prevent the passage of rent control statewide (Proposition 10) and in the Sacramento region.
Sacramento Vice Mayor Steve Hansen will explain the Tenant Protection and Relief Act, an alternative to the temporary rent control cap proposed by Mayor Steinberg.
The luncheon also includes status report on the rent control ballot measure in the City of Sacramento.
Its proponents submitted 41,000 signatures in an attempt to qualify it for a future election. Voter guides for the Nov. 6 election will be presented that include CAA’s recommendations for local elections.
Steve Hansen, Steve Hansen is a member of the Sacramento City Council and current Vice Mayor. Since 2012, he has represented residents of District 4, which includes Midtown, Central City, Land Park, Little Pocket and River Oaks neighborhoods. He was an undergraduate at Gonzaga University and graduate of McGeorge School of Law. Hansen is one of three co-authors of the Tenant Protections and Relief Act, a proposal under consideration by the city council as an alternative to rent control, just cause tenancy termination restrictions, and other measures opposed by CAA. He opposes the rent control ballot initiative in the City of Sacramento.
