The California Apartment Association’s Tri-County division has announced it will donate $30,000 to help Silicon Valley families avoid homelessness and to provide quality affordable housing.

CAA Tri-County raised the money through its 30th annual Charity Golf Tournament on June 13 in San Jose. The funds will go to the Housing Industry Foundation, which provides one-time grants to help families at risk of homelessness, renovates affordable-housing units and helps families find affordable housing units in either Santa Clara or San Mateo counties while providing them with a grant to subsidize their rent for a 12-month term.

Since the inception of the golf tournament, CAA has donated over $1 million to HIF.

“CAA Tri County and its members have a long history supporting HIF and its mission,” said Joshua Howard, CAA’s senior vice president for Northern California. ” With housing continuing to be challenging for so many in the Bay Area, the work of HIF is more important that ever, and we are proud to not only grow awareness of HIF but help it expand its reach to assist more families.”
